Bridge deck construction

Bridge construction methods are at the heart of Freyssinet expertise. When it comes to installation bridge component (beams, segments, stay cable, etc.), we have a wealth of knowledge, know-how and certifications that enable us to provide high quality standards and methods, including design and engineering expertise, to ensure that works are conducted in the safest and most effective way to the client’s satisfaction.

Bridge fittings (bearings, expansion joints)

Bridge fittings are essential components and as such require detailed design, high quality fabrication standards and faultless installation procedures. Freyssinet provide a wide range of bridge fittings such as mechanical bearings, elastomeric bearings or expansion joints and offer a “design and build” approach where all aspects from design, manufacturing to installation are provided in-house without intermediaries.

Post-tensioning

Our expertise in post-tensioning makes Freyssinet a partner of choice. Our PT systems are accredited and fully compliant with local regulations, including CARES accreditation recently introduced by BCA.

Bearing replacement

Being an expert in bearing design and fabrication, our services include turn-key solutions when it comes to bearing replacement. Critical assets such as MRT viaduct or highways require particular attention and detailed planning for bearing replacement works. Our team of experts ensure that all grounds are covered so that the bearing replacement works are carried out in utmost safety conditions whilst there is no impact / disruption to the members of the public.

Cable structures maintenance

Our expertise in cable structures enables us to have asset owner’s trust when it is time to maintain their structure. Our services include the design and method statement of cable replacement works inclusive necessary temporary works, as well as completing the works under stringent program to the satisfaction of the asset owner.

Concrete repair & cathodic protection

Aging concrete structures often are subject to corrosion of embedded rebar due to chlorides (when close to seas for example) or carbonation (exhaust gas from traffic). Our service includes the design of repair /cathodic protection (CP) as well as the installation and monitoring of CP systems, either sacrificial or impressed current.

We work to safeguard a building or adapt a structure to a new use or new regulatory requirements. We offer comprehensive process starts with identification of pathologies and continues after handover with follow-up maintenance and monitoring.

01. TR370 – Fast removal of failing external PT bars

There were evidence of failing PT bar at PIE Thomson Flyover which could have lead to bar falling on live traffic below. Our rapid mobilisation ensured a swift removal of the PT bars efficiently and without incident.

02. Singapore Flyer – urgency in proposing methods of spoke cable removal

Singapore Flyer iconic structure uses tensionned cables (spoke cables – similar to a bike wheel). Changing of spoke cables is a challenge that Freyssinet mastered whilst minimising impact of normal business operations.

03. Bearing replacement for MRT viaduct– smart replacement method

The innovation of using friction clamp instead of traditional tower for bearing replacement defined a new standard for Singapore authority.
